What you'll learn
Jason Moody walks into the studio with the kind of relaxed confidence that only comes from someone who has reinvented himself three times over. Before he was an award-winning adult performer and the face of a burgeoning wellness empire, he was a fifth-generation shoemaker designing for the likes of Steve Madden and Zara in the industrial heart of China. But as he tells Lexis Star, a life of making $15 shoes for $150 markups eventually felt like a dead end.
Today, Moody is the founder of Harder Gummies, a men’s wellness brand that aims to bridge the gap between natural supplements and high-performance intimacy. He’s not just selling a product; he’s selling a solution to the performance anxiety that plagues both the average man and the professionals in his industry. The transition from fashion to film to pharma-adjacent entrepreneurship might seem jarring to some, but to Moody, it was a logical evolution driven by one simple question: "What do I love to do?"
From Guangzhou to Los Angeles
Moody’s journey didn’t start in front of a lens. He grew up in Israel before moving to China at 21 to follow the family trade. "I'm a fifth generation of shoemakers," he explains, detailing a life spent in Gwangju, a massive city of 18 million people. Despite the success of his shoe brand, the environment was stifling. He needed sun, he needed the beach, and he needed a place that didn't feel like it was "blocking the sun with pollution."
After a transformative trip to Cambodia, Moody realized he was "too big" for his current life. He packed up, moved to Los Angeles, and initially tried to launch a shoe kiosk business. When the math on mall rent didn't add up, he found himself with an abundance of free time and a desire for something fulfilling that wasn't just about the money. His honest self-reflection led him to a career in the adult industry, where he eventually became the first Israeli male straight performer in the field.
"People think because you sell something or do something, that’s what you are. I’m so against it... I'm more than my job."
The Cost of Being the "First"
Breaking into the adult industry as an Israeli man came with a specific set of cultural hurdles. Moody is candid about the fallout within his community. "We are very close-minded in that aspect," he says. He lost friends, and some friends’ wives barred him from social circles. But the most significant conversation was with his father, who had spent nearly two decades in China himself.
Moody chose to be upfront rather than let the news trickle down through the grapevine. He recalls telling his father at an airport gate: "I started in the adult industry and I'm doing porn." The response was classic: "You fucking idiot. Let's not talk about it anymore." Despite the initial shock and his sisters' fears that he was "selling his body" because he was in a bad place, Moody remained firm. He wasn't in a bad place; he was getting paid to do what he loved.
Hummus, Pita, and Occupational Hazards
The conversation takes a turn into the messy reality of life on set. When Lexis asks for his most embarrassing story, Moody doesn't hesitate. He describes a scene for a company called Dog Fart that involved a restaurant setting and an interracial "rogue" setup. The director, leaning into Moody's heritage, decided to get creative with the catering.
"Everybody ordering food. Of course they all get salad, chicken... I'm getting hummus and pitas," Moody laughs. The scene ended with a request involving the pita bread that left him thinking, "I'm such a bad Jew. My grandma would be so ashamed." It’s a moment of levity that underscores the often ridiculous, highly choreographed nature of the business.
Harder Gummies: Confidence You Can Feel
The pivot to wellness wasn't just a marketing play; it was born out of the physical demands of his job. Moody noticed the stress performers face when they aren't "ready" on a set filled with 100 people whose paychecks depend on his performance. He hated the reliance on pharmaceutical pills or injections that created a stressful, timed window for intimacy.
Harder Gummies was designed to be a daily routine, not a "one-time kickstart." With ingredients like Ashwagandha, Tongkat Ali, and Gingko Biloba, the goal is natural testosterone support and sustained confidence. "It’s not like Viagra," Moody clarifies. "It’s about confidence that you can feel. I want people to be confident like they know they’re always ready."
"Everybody wants full belly, empty balls. And it’s not easy life."
Moody’s vision for the brand is massive. He’s already working with female creators in the industry to develop probiotic lines and holistic health products tailored for women. With his sights set on major retailers like Target and CVS by 2027, Jason Moody is proof that you can take the man out of the shoe factory, but you can’t take the entrepreneurial spirit out of the man.
The Daily Routine: Two gummies a day to maintain baseline wellness rather than "timed" performance.
Transparency First: Every batch is lab-tested for heavy metals and active ingredient percentages.
Beyond the Camera: Moody uses his industry experience to vet what actually works for physical performance.
Whether he's discussing the complexities of polyamory—which he tried before realizing he prefers a "go with the flow" approach—or the nuances of manufacturing in the US, Moody remains refreshingly grounded. He’s a man who has seen the world, from the factories of Gwangju to the sets of LA, and decided that the most important thing he can build is his own peace of mind.
