00;00;00;00 - 00;00;09;03 Unknown I just don't understand how all these girls like what they're all, like 18, 19, 20 just blew up. Like how I never saw Camila,

00;00;09;03 - 00;00;10;19 Unknown when she had no followers.

00;00;10;19 - 00;00;13;23 Unknown You know what I mean? I actually saw her in a mr. beast video,

00;00;13;23 - 00;00;21;20 Unknown like I remember that was. That was her first thing. I don't know what she did before, but I just remember seeing this girl in Mr. Beast video and I was like, damn, this girl's pretty hot right

00;00;21;20 - 00;00;23;21 Unknown now. That was it. That was like my soul thought.

00;00;23;21 - 00;00;24;04 Unknown And then

00;00;24;06 - 00;00;34;12 Unknown I saw her like a couple months later. I'm like, where did this girl come from? Why do I recognize this girl? It was the same girl. So she must have, like, was like an aspiring actor, maybe. And then it just found her.

00;00;34;12 - 00;00;42;00 Unknown but who would show their earnings? Someone that manipulated. Yeah, exactly. You know, someone that wants the attention because there's some dude in Iowa that's getting.

00;00;42;07 - 00;00;45;25 Unknown That's about it. Yeah. But also doesn't realize that his views are currency

00;00;45;25 - 00;00;47;29 Unknown and she gets paid based on. Yeah. So like

00;00;47;29 - 00;00;50;29 Unknown as controversial if it is controversial,

00;00;51;02 - 00;00;54;07 Unknown like I give her credit like I think she's really smart.

00;00;54;07 - 00;00;57;18 Unknown Real voices. Bold stories. This

00;00;57;20 - 00;01;07;09 Unknown is the Lexus Starship. Hush, hush.

00;01;07;11 - 00;01;11;04 Unknown Oh!

00;01;11;07 - 00;01;14;25 Unknown This show is presented by King Rella.

00;01;14;28 - 00;01;36;06 Unknown I bet you never thought I would have a lawyer on the show. That's what is fun about this podcast, is that you never know who we're going to have next. Yes, we got the only f girls. We got music producers. We got, people who speak, like, 20,000 languages. So today what we're going to talk about is everything legal when it comes to O girls.

00;01;36;06 - 00;01;56;25 Unknown So that's going to be really interesting. For the girls who, you know, want to get some inside scoop for you guys who just want to know what really goes on behind the scenes. We're going to get all the scoop here today. Please welcome Alex launch Dean woo.

00;01;56;28 - 00;02;13;13 Unknown Good to see you too. Glad you're here. You're a first lawyer. What? What does that say? What does that say? I don't know, I think it means that this podcast is growing. That's a good thing, right? Yeah. Careful there. Yes. We talk to him sometimes we. We don't need to ignore him. He's. I don't want to ignore him.

00;02;13;13 - 00;02;37;26 Unknown He's a crucial part of the experience. I almost felt dumb. We even added the camera for his face. So. Yeah. Hey, guys. Fun. Because, you know, yes, I am a adult content creator, and we do have a lot of girls that come on here. We've had a lot of different things, but having a lawyer who specializes in, you know, the off area, specializing get in trouble.

00;02;37;26 - 00;02;56;09 Unknown Suspect. Okay. No. So erase that. No, I was like, I was just, like, more of a joke. Yeah. So tell us, before this whole business, lawyer thing, who was Alex before the whole, like, getting into only firm and everything? Yeah. Who are you? Like, give us a little, like a little one, two, three sentences of who you were growing up.

00;02;56;09 - 00;03;16;12 Unknown So grew up in the country, in a small town in upstate New York, outside a lot, you know, running around. I don't wanna say doing hood ratchet with the friends. You get there doing good. I wasn't really doing hood rat shit for doing hood rat shit with my friends. You know, outside fishing, hiking, playing sports. Normal childhood.

00;03;16;18 - 00;03;38;00 Unknown Just in the middle of nowhere. Oh. Got it. Yeah. In the middle of nowhere. Where there was a nice prison in town. So we had kind of a lot of interesting experiences. I had to deal with murder sometimes getting out of school for murder. Oh, yeah. We had some fun. We have some crazy stories with that. One time, there was, like, a rehab center in town, and somebody went crazy up there, stabbed one of the nurses, stole a car and drove down the mountain.

00;03;38;00 - 00;03;51;05 Unknown We got off school for it, and I was like, cool. So, like, what do we do now? And my friends and I were like, not exactly thinking this through. And he put a shotgun in his car. He was like, let's go, let's go find him. And I'm like, yeah, that sounds like fun. Oh my God, thank God we didn't find him.

00;03;51;05 - 00;04;05;14 Unknown I hope they got stopped by like a Swat team up in the mountains. And they were like, what are you doing? It was like, driving around, you would have needed a lawyer back then. If you would've found him, I would have just called my mom, who was also a lawyer. Yeah. So how did you get into the whole lawyer?

00;04;05;17 - 00;04;21;09 Unknown I don't think I ever had a choice. You didn't? I really didn't have a choice. Like, I always knew growing up that I was going to go to law school. And then I always told myself, like, oh, yeah, you know, go to college, have fun, get a degree in political science, and you go to law school. You can do whatever you want after that, right?

00;04;21;11 - 00;04;39;08 Unknown I didn't realize, I think, I was being groomed into being a lawyer. Groomed? Yeah. I was being groomed into being a lawyer with my family's business. So, like, my family, I'm actually a fourth generation attorney in my family. So that was always the intent that I was going to go and work in the family. It was expected.

00;04;39;08 - 00;04;58;18 Unknown Yeah. Whether I knew it or didn't. Yeah, yeah. But, so that was expected. But then Covid happened and, changed my entire life. And that's how I'm here now. So tell us what happened during Covid. So during Covid, I was working at my family's law firm. They do all of the copyright enforcement for the UFC and other rights holders.

00;04;58;21 - 00;05;15;13 Unknown The bar, a restaurant was stealing a UFC fight Pay-Per-View fight. They would go, they would send investigators and then they would go ahead and sue the bars and restaurants. So I was a lawyer for them doing that, and that's how I was learning about everything. And that's how I got into copyright and IP and everything. Then Covid happened.

00;05;15;15 - 00;05;30;21 Unknown Bars and restaurants weren't open. Yeah. So if bars and restaurants are open my mom comes up to me and she says, Alex, I have to let you go. And I was like, I was living with her at the time. I was like, okay, well what's for dinner? Right? Like I don't give a shit. Like I was like, cool, I'm ready for unemployment and free food.

00;05;30;21 - 00;05;46;26 Unknown Like, sweet. Oh yeah. Right. Like make my day. But I totally got it. Like, it was a business decision. Like, you can't afford to have a lawyer on staff, right? So, like, I guess, you know, but it got to a point where it's like, all right, I need to find a way to make money and, like, I have this degree.

00;05;46;29 - 00;06;03;07 Unknown I have the ability to make money, so why not go do it? And I started out by, like, doing. And this is during Covid, obviously, like just traffic tickets and court was all virtual like during that time. So it was really easy. And I got good at dealing with traffic tickets, and I was really good at like marketing myself.

00;06;03;07 - 00;06;18;27 Unknown So it was getting a ton of traffic tickets and I was like, this is awesome. And that's really all I was doing for a while. I started doing a couple of Dwis and low level crimes up in New York, during that period. And I was like, you know what this is be a very comfortable life, right? Like, I'm I'm okay.

00;06;18;27 - 00;06;36;19 Unknown I'm making good money doing this. I it's low pressure for the most part. This is good. And then I went on a bachelor party in Miami, and I got a phone call from a former intern of mine, which is an intern in the office filing stuff, and he was like, hey, Alex. Well, it was a little bit more freaked out, like, Alex, I'm freaking out.

00;06;36;20 - 00;06;54;02 Unknown Like what? What's going on? And I'm. And I'm drunk. I'm like, I don't know, I'm in some pool. I was like, I don't even know why I'm taking a phone call, really? And he was like, my girlfriend. She's hot fans and she's making so much money and they're taking such a high percentage. And I was like, okay, what even is that?

00;06;54;04 - 00;07;09;18 Unknown Right? This is 2020. I was like, I don't I don't know what you want me to do with this, right? Like, I don't even know what. Yeah, I don't even I was like, I don't even know what that is really like. I know that the concept of this, but I'm not familiar with it at all. And he goes, can I just hire you to help her with get out of the contract?

00;07;09;18 - 00;07;29;14 Unknown And I was like, sure, listen, a bad contract's a bad contract. If there's a way out of it, we'll do it. And I help her out. And then I realize behind the scenes who's managing her. We're like 22 year old kids, and I'm like, crazy. You're crazy. I really like this contract that was, like, drawn on the piece of, like, a piece of napkin.

00;07;29;15 - 00;07;47;06 Unknown Yeah. And I was like, is this a joke? And then I go in and I look like, you know, this bad ass song. I'm just like you. This isn't happening. We're going to leave on our terms. Yeah. And, have a nice life. And that's exactly what happened. Yeah, but then I. When I was in the process of doing that, I realized how much money this girl was making.

00;07;47;06 - 00;08;00;19 Unknown Yeah. And how much money there was in this industry. And I was like, back in the old days, too. So it's obviously a little different now. Yeah. But I was like, damn, there's, there's money in this. And I want, I want to want it. Well, I want the money. Yeah, but I want, I want to be in the industry.

00;08;00;21 - 00;08;18;09 Unknown And that's how I got started. And then it like blew up into this. That's that's amazing. Congrats. Thank you, thank you. And then that's how you started OnlyFans. That's how I started. It's only firm. Yeah. How did you think of that name. Because that's that's a good one. It was literally in the shower I was shocked. I was just in the shower and I was like, what were you doing in the shower?

00;08;18;09 - 00;08;34;06 Unknown I shower, I had to bring it, then I was showering, then you don't. You're telling me you don't have your deepest thoughts? One in the shower? Absolutely. I've had some of the best ideas I've ever had. I was just like in the shower, and it just. Just came to me. Yeah, yeah. And so they say you're washing away all the stress, you know?

00;08;34;06 - 00;08;49;27 Unknown So you, you're releasing the stress and then like, good vibes and good energy is coming in. I'm chronically stressed. So when he came right back stage. Right. So but for those ten minutes yes that's a long shower ten minutes I don't know if I want to I want to be in an hour. And so is that a weird thing on my end.

00;08;49;27 - 00;09;04;23 Unknown No. So okay. Well I'm saying ten minutes because I personally shower very quickly. Okay. So I, I don't know if that's like a stress person thing, but like I feel like it's like, yeah, I had to be clean, but like ten minutes of like, damn, that's no, it's ten minutes is a lot. But this is like for me, no, no, no judgment at all.

00;09;04;23 - 00;09;23;11 Unknown I mean, it takes me like I'd probably say wash hair conditioned, body like five. But if I'm going to do like a whole body shave, then like ten minutes, you know. But do you do that whole body shave and stuff or only on Sundays if I can, I guess. And there needs to be an event, obviously. Yeah. Okay.

00;09;23;11 - 00;09;37;03 Unknown So tell us you're in the shower and then it just clicked. I was just thinking, like, you know, the things that keep you up at night, it's like, okay, what am I going to do? How am I going to pay this bill and stuff? I was really focused at the time. It's like, all right, I don't want to be a run of the mill lawyer doing traffic tickets.

00;09;37;03 - 00;09;51;21 Unknown There's too much out there like I was. I've just been exposed to that. And you just made a good amount of money at the time was very, you know, young attorney. I was like, wow, I can make a lot of money fast. And this is just more fun and more interesting. Yeah. So I was just I started like, this is who I am.

00;09;51;22 - 00;10;07;21 Unknown I have OCD, like I start obsessing over it. It's like, what can I do that is going to make me palatable and marketable to the general public, like, or the people that are in this industry now. I had misconceptions about the industry at the time. I thought it was way bigger than it was. I thought everybody was making money like that.

00;10;07;21 - 00;10;22;03 Unknown That's not what they want you to believe, though, right? That's exactly right. And but if you're not in it, how would you know exactly what you know? Yeah. I mean, I believe that some people still believe that Sophie Ryan made 40 million a year. I don't believe that. You know, that girl is so smart. I have to give it to her.

00;10;22;03 - 00;10;30;20 Unknown Really? Like so, of course, she's not making $40 million a year. She'll tell you. I will show you screenshots. I saw that video once that she posted. I think it was on TikTok, was like, look, this is my earnings. Yeah,

00;10;30;20 - 00;10;38;08 Unknown but who would show their earnings? Someone that manipulated. Yeah, exactly. You know, someone that wants the attention because there's some dude in Iowa that's getting.

00;10;38;15 - 00;10;51;07 Unknown That's about it. Yeah. But also doesn't realize that his views are currency and she gets paid based on. Yeah. So like as controversial if it is controversial, like I give her credit like I think she's really smart.

00;10;51;07 - 00;11;02;27 Unknown I just don't understand how all these girls like what they're all, like 18, 19, 20 just blew up. Like how I never saw Camila, like, when she had no followers.

00;11;02;27 - 00;11;16;23 Unknown You know what I mean? I actually saw her in a mr. beast video, like I remember that was. That was her first thing. I don't know what she did before, but I just remember seeing this girl in Mr. Beast video and I was like, damn, this girl's pretty hot right now. That was it. That was like my soul thought.

00;11;16;23 - 00;11;27;26 Unknown And then I saw her like a couple months later. I'm like, where did this girl come from? Why do I recognize this girl? It was the same girl. So she must have, like, was like an aspiring actor, maybe. And then it just found her.

00;11;27;26 - 00;11;31;05 Unknown I need to just blow up like that one time it takes. Yeah. Yeah.

00;11;31;11 - 00;11;44;10 Unknown You got to be. You're going to get there. We're going to. I mean, I'm already young, but I'm just saying, like, I just want to wake up one day and have like, 2 million followers, you know what I mean? I mean, no, I don't I have 10,000 followers, so. No, I have no idea. Okay, we'll get you some more.

00;11;44;10 - 00;11;57;29 Unknown I'm excited for that. I did just get verified and I had a lot of trouble. I had a lot of trouble getting that. I was like the worst. Yeah, it's like, what the. It's it's it's very annoying. And then if you're going to want to change your profile picture, which I think you have like the only thing I just don't think it's right.

00;11;57;29 - 00;12;10;04 Unknown Yeah. But I had to make like my personal Facebook. Not that I use it, but like I had to put now I have to put the only firm logo on because I have to give my actual name. Yeah. Like fine. But like, do you want to just see my ID? Yeah, I sent them like seven times. You're like, this isn't you.

00;12;10;04 - 00;12;30;04 Unknown I'm like, what do you mean? It's not me? Oh my God, these things, if you do it on X, it takes five seconds, right? But if you don't want to Instagram or meta, it takes forever. I've had so much the time I've wasted on that for, you know, the podcast, your personal page. Yeah, bro. It's ridiculous. I'm even having some problems with his website right now with my consent form, and I've literally been on it for two weeks and I'm like, what?

00;12;30;04 - 00;12;44;24 Unknown Like I would what more do you want from me? You know what? It's been two weeks and they're like, oh, well, it's in review now. We'll get back to you and let you know what you have to do. And I responded today. I said, no, I said, I want to talk to somebody right now. You guys are going to send me an email telling me that it's been resolved.

00;12;44;24 - 00;13;04;03 Unknown The ticket is closed. It's not resolved. You know what I mean? There's no humans reviewing it. It's probably I oh my God, it's so annoying. And I'm like, I want you to tell me step by step what I am doing wrong. Because I added him as a performer and everything was fine. But then when me, the store owner of this website, do I want to beat them out?

00;13;04;05 - 00;13;18;10 Unknown It doesn't matter. Oh I don't, I didn't mean no no no no no. But like clips for sale. Okay. You know, and it's just like this isn't like a big no. Yeah. It's kind of like a mini vids, right? But like, it's like you would think you would want to, like, do a good job. So people use it.

00;13;18;10 - 00;13;33;01 Unknown Yeah. Yeah. Like I had a good experience and I have so many videos just waiting in my vault to be uploaded so that I can make money. They can make money, and you know what I mean? But it's such a headache that, like, I'm this close to say you. You're right. Like, my time is better spent somewhere else.

00;13;33;02 - 00;13;56;22 Unknown Exactly. You know, All right, moving on. So only firm came in the shower. We still didn't get it. Only firm came in the shower. Yeah, we'll get there. Oh, yeah, it did. Was that intentional? No, that was a good one. Yeah, it just came out like that. It came in the shower. Yeah. And then I literally from I remember I got out of the shower and then I went right to my computer and I was like, I'm going to go to a, like an AI logo generator.

00;13;56;24 - 00;14;08;07 Unknown And at the time that was like 50 bucks. Now I'm sure it's free. Yeah. And I was like, this is this is my head. I'm doing this. And I made the logo right there. And then it was like, perfect. Amazing. Then I had to like, pay someone to kind of like, make it look nice or not. Yeah. Computery.

00;14;08;09 - 00;14;10;19 Unknown Yeah. Yeah. And it was like, this works.

00;14;10;21 - 00;14;31;21 Unknown If you're watching this right now, I bet you care about how you look, feel, and smell. Especially smell. And that's why I'm here to talk to you about King Rilla. They make all natural soaps, shampoos, lip balms and deodorants for men. But I'm not gonna lie. I use them as well. They use organic ingredients that keep you feeling fresh all day long.

00;14;31;22 - 00;14;46;00 Unknown And trust me, you deserve to treat yourself like a king. So do yourself and your girlfriend a favor by visiting them at King rilla.com. You won't regret it. Oh, and don't forget to use my promo code Lexus Star to get 15% off your order.

00;14;46;04 - 00;15;01;16 Unknown And how do you. So because you are a lawyer, not really on social media, how was it, you know, having to be present on the platform? It was like, I don't have a page yet. I have clients that are encouraging me, okay, to, to make a page just for TV.

00;15;01;16 - 00;15;24;29 Unknown And I'm like, that's not a bad idea. I really hate that idea because I guess I could do like some sort of content on there. But like in the sense of like how to like I got introduced to social media as a way of getting clients and getting business. At first it was super uncomfortable. Yeah. Because I was like, oh, you mean I have to put myself out there and put my face out there for everyone to look at me, criticize everything about me?

00;15;24;29 - 00;15;38;07 Unknown Yeah. Like now that I've done it for a couple of years, it's like, I don't you don't. Yeah, okay. I'm the one that makes money off of this. Exactly like so. And then it's just like you want to be in it. You got to be in it. You can't be half in. You can't be half, right? So, like.

00;15;38;07 - 00;16;05;05 Unknown Exactly. So I was lucky enough that when I started making videos with the company locally, a couple of the videos went viral really quickly just because it was so novel. At the time. And I realized I'm actually quite comfortable being on camera. And the more I did it, the better I got at it. I'm like, I started learning like cuz that, okay, I have nervous tics and I still like have to work on or something when I'm on camera and stuff like who doesn't?

00;16;05;08 - 00;16;22;03 Unknown But I was like, I do actually enjoy being in the spotlight a little bit and realized, yeah, it's an attention horror. I am, I am God, he likes the spotlight. I do like the spa. Well, you know what? From TV we can make one together. Okay. What does that entail? I don't know, but. Okay. Figure it out.

00;16;22;03 - 00;16;40;06 Unknown Yeah. I'm down. If you do a TV, then, I mean, I don't know. We'll have to think about what we could do, but. Well, we're launching her because we have a TV for the podcast right now. We're launching one for her, you know, Alexa star, but then we're going to try to do collabs with. But that would mean I have like a page, right?

00;16;40;06 - 00;16;59;01 Unknown So that I could have it on TV. So like you have to have a safe for work page, right? I mean like fine, I don't I don't care. Yeah. Link, link to your TV and I could put that on my LinkedIn too. Yeah. So like when a judge looks at my LinkedIn, they see my page because like, even though I do all this stuff, I still go to like federal court, you know, so make sure you wear bikinis okay.

00;16;59;02 - 00;17;16;23 Unknown Yeah. Of course. Yeah. And it has to be like a nice bright pink. Yes. Yeah. Always in like like electric highlighter yellow. Yeah. Or the Bora one. I can do that. Oh yeah. I'll be good. I probably have both. Wear what. How about that? Okay. I think some people might really enjoy that I think. Yeah. Careful what you say because it might happen.

00;17;16;23 - 00;17;37;21 Unknown Yeah. Okay. So you left your your mom's, firm. Yes. You create on the firm. What was the dynamic between your parents when you did that at the time like that? Oh, no. My parents loved it. Oh, yeah? Yeah, they were like, this is brilliant. Like my parents. I love them to death. And we're like, best friends.

00;17;37;21 - 00;17;53;27 Unknown We, you know, we talk every day. Yeah. They were like, this is. This is brilliant. You're carving out a niche, like, do your thing. Yeah, I'll go all in. And I'm so lucky that my mother and my uncle two, actually, they're partners in their law firm. I use them as a resource. They've both been practicing for over 30 years.

00;17;53;27 - 00;18;15;03 Unknown Wow. So, like, there's a lot of things that even though it's such a new frontier legally, it's like, how do we deal with this problem in, like, the federal and local court systems and like, you know, managers and girls having disputes? Well, it still comes down to like basic legal terms, just like with this really unconventionally, or this really unconventional twist.

00;18;15;03 - 00;18;41;01 Unknown Yeah. Which is the nature of what's being disputed. But like, so if it's a breach of contract or somebody did something wrong and leak something, it still falls under like these rules that were created however many decades ago. Right. Maybe sometimes in the 90s, sometimes even like, you know, even way earlier than that. So it's really nice to have that like okay, how do I apply this new concept to what the existing framework already is.

00;18;41;02 - 00;18;56;16 Unknown Yeah. Yeah. That's awesome. That's awesome. So they support you. Yeah. No they're great. Like and if I it's also really nice if I was like hey listen I need to be in court. But I'm in Florida right now and I have an appearance, you know, in the Southern District of New York, I can call my mom or my uncle and I'd be like, hey, can you just appear one for me?

00;18;56;23 - 00;19;16;00 Unknown And we do that for each other. So that's awesome. That's fun. Love the support. So what does it day, in the life of Alex Lansing look like? Usually I wake up. Okay, six, 630. Apart from the shower, apart from the shower, apart from you. Only if you're in the shower. You're you're assuming that every day is a shower, right?

00;19;16;00 - 00;19;37;13 Unknown Like, come on. That is just, like, not necessary. All right. Unless I worked out, I could. Do I really need a shower every day? Like, a lot, but, so I wake up and usually everybody else that I deal with, both in the criminal sense and in the sense, are all like night owls. So I have 15 million text, 15 million emails.

00;19;37;19 - 00;19;53;07 Unknown People start texting me their life stories about how, you know, they're in the right, the other person's wrong. Like, okay, so I have to respond to all of that. Takes me like a good two hours for sure. Like just just you're actually like a girl. Yeah. When you think about, you wake up and you're on your phone for two hours just looking at all.

00;19;53;07 - 00;20;09;21 Unknown Yeah, my screen time is disgusting. Yeah, I have two phones. Yeah. So I have it, but like, the, my give out my cell phone to the girls and then my main cell phone. I have another cell phone. I give that to my criminal class. Yeah. You don't need. You don't. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's so funny. Okay. After you check your.

00;20;09;21 - 00;20;26;04 Unknown Yeah, I do that, you know, and then, I usually, you know, I usually do a bunch of court appearances. They're generally in the morning and a lot of them are virtual. So I'm doing that all morning and then I'm taking phone calls, you know, all day long. You know, somebody comes to me and they say, Alex, you know, I heard about you from my friend or this person, or can you help me?

00;20;26;04 - 00;20;36;24 Unknown And I'm like, I'm happy to talk to you. I'm always happy to talk. I never charge for a consultation, anything like that. Because if I can't help you, I'll help you find someone that can. And if there's just nothing that can be done. Yeah, I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not going to just take your money.

00;20;36;24 - 00;20;57;22 Unknown Yeah, right. So really, most of my day is just being on the phone, being available unless I have a hearing or something like that. But for the most part, my day ends from actual court appearances and doing legal things and some drafting something which takes time and effort and can take a lot of time. I'm like done by like 6:00, right?

00;20;57;22 - 00;21;18;15 Unknown So like, I have a it's nice to be able to have a life outside, for sure. I'm always answering like my phone, but it's constantly you're like, that's just always getting email. So you're always like, right. Like depending on how you interpret it. Right? Like I'm, I'm always working. Yeah. Actually, I can be at a dinner, right? Like I left my phone on the counter for a reason because I'm sure I'm going to have 50 messages.

00;21;18;19 - 00;21;34;17 Unknown I get out. It's just everyone has their panic attack. Yeah. And I'm the first person they come to. And it's just like, to me, I don't, you know, like it's it's really not an emergency. But in everybody's head everything. So it is. Yeah for sure. Yeah. Some of the best advice I ever got was nothing is truly an emergency unless someone's dying or going through.

00;21;34;20 - 00;21;50;17 Unknown Right, right, right. Now let me ask you a question. How does it work? Do you charge. You don't want to know how much you charge. But let's say you have this big case, right? Do you charge per hour or do you charge like, okay, this is how much like I'm going to do all this for you. And this is what it's like for a flat fee.

00;21;50;19 - 00;22;07;09 Unknown It's a flat fee. It depends on like, what it is you need me to do. Right? Okay. And I do both. And the rate can vary. Right. Like, depending on how complicated I think it's going to be. If it's something simple like, hey, Alex, can you write a letter to someone or something like that just to scare them?

00;22;07;12 - 00;22;25;12 Unknown It's a flat fee, right? How much I'm going to charge? It's going to depend how detailed that letter is. Okay, I make that call, right? Yeah, but if it's like, hey, Alex, I got sued by my own, my old manager, and he's asking for $5 million. I'm like, I'm going to charge hourly. I'm going to offer a retainer upfront, and then I'm gonna charge hourly because it's going to be a constantly evolving scenario.

00;22;25;12 - 00;22;41;29 Unknown Yeah, right. I can't just say, give me $50,000 and I'll, you know, I could there's a good chance, like, burn through. Like I lose money on that. Yeah. So for something that's going to be like an ongoing long term engagement, like a lawsuit, I have to charge our. Yeah, but okay, so let's say somebody gets a ticket, right?

00;22;42;01 - 00;22;57;04 Unknown Okay. Like a speeding ticket. Like a speeding ticket. Why don't they just pay it instead of getting a lawyer and then paying more on the speeding ticket points. Points. Right. That's my in my experience, that's the biggest motivator, like some people do. And then they realize, oh, I have too many points on my license and now I have no license.

00;22;57;06 - 00;23;14;01 Unknown Can you reopen the ticket like, yes, but now it's more money. But like a speeding ticket, for example, I know is most likely going to be one court appearance, right? So I'll do that as a flat fee. Okay. Can you, can you give me just an example of how much that would cause? I would charge $500 okay. And that'll cover and like don't get me wrong, sometimes I get burned on that too.

00;23;14;01 - 00;23;27;21 Unknown Right? Sometimes I can't get resolved in one appearance 99% of the time I can. Yeah, I have to come back a few times. That's just the nature of the game. Yeah. You know, okay. That's interesting. So if I ever get a speeding ticket, you got a ticket number down when I get my push. Yeah. I can't, I can't do it in Florida.

00;23;27;21 - 00;23;47;03 Unknown Yeah. Right after after I'm taking the bar in Florida this summer. After that, if it if you got a speeding ticket in New York, in New York when we're driving by to go back to get. Yeah. No, please. No. I'm fine. I 97 probably go by my house. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Well, he probably know because I when it comes to sense of direction, I'm you definitely you definitely go like by my house when you're driving up to Montreal.

00;23;47;05 - 00;24;00;26 Unknown Oh yeah. Yeah. Okay. Nice. I mean we're not going to do it. How far away are you from? New York City? I am an hour and a half with no traffic. Okay, so. So, like, I have an office in the city, so I go quite often. I hate going into the city. I literally rather drive to Montreal.

00;24;00;26 - 00;24;19;26 Unknown Yeah, yeah, just four hours short of door I hate. I've never been to New York City. Well, really, we went through it went through last time. We drove. We've driven five times. Yeah, from Montreal to Florida. Right, I told it, look, I'm going to bring you, like, you know, closer to the ocean on the East Coast, right, right.

00;24;20;00 - 00;24;36;12 Unknown To all the big cities, you know, New York, Washington, whatever. And we went through New York. So he's freaking out the whole life. Now's the time to be there, like May-June. Like you should go up for a weekend or something. She. I'm very claustrophobic. I don't like being surrounded by a lot of people on a plane. So funny.

00;24;36;12 - 00;24;59;01 Unknown Funny on an airplane. I'm kind of okay. Right. But when we land, I need the door to open ASAP. Okay, you know what? I actually can understand that. So one time we were in an airplane, and they're like, we need to get the electricians. The is not opening. I just sat there and cried. Yeah, I'd be I'd be a little freaked out, you know, like if ever you hear like, oh, a woman opens emergency door, one's plane landed.

00;24;59;04 - 00;25;13;13 Unknown That would be me, you know? And then I would need to call you. I would, I think my advice would be, bring Xanax before your next flight. So. No, I mean, I used to I used to take something just to calm me down, but now I'm just like, I'm like, whatever, okay, I'll pick it up. I choose my seat.

00;25;13;13 - 00;25;31;10 Unknown I'm in the aisle. I like to be in front of the airplane. Right. You know, but when we land, open the goddamn door, I ain't taxiing. I'm like, what for? Like, you know. Yeah, I hate that. Yeah. She's like, no, get me to the gate. Let me out. I have to do exactly. I don't understand it. I, I, I had a flight once from Newark where.

00;25;31;10 - 00;25;48;12 Unknown No, I was coming back to Newark from Bangkok. Oh, my God, it was so it was a 15 hour flight, actually was from Taiwan to to Newark. It was a 15 hour flight. And then they taxied for three hours after we landed, I was like, I'm going to kill someone. Oh, yeah, I was about to lose it. There was someone on the news recently, like, I saw it the other day.

00;25;48;12 - 00;26;02;28 Unknown He open the emergency door. He's like, we've been delayed three hours. You're now you're seeing another two, three hours. It's like, I want to get off the plane. Yeah, bring me to the gate. I don't know why. They just. And now he's going to get, like, federal charges. Oh, for sure. Yeah, right. But that's the thing. Like, if I do that, I'm going to go to jail.

00;26;02;28 - 00;26;19;25 Unknown And then imagine me in a cell, like you ever been inside of jail? No, I can't go in a jail because I can't. I can't even like like if if you tell me a door. Sorry. If you tell me that I'm, like, in the mansion. If you're like Lexus, there's no way out. Like all the doors are locked.

00;26;19;27 - 00;26;40;17 Unknown I will lose my. You know, I don't go in the back of two door cars. I don't do underground tunnels. I don't do elevators when I not all at all. I got my surgery and I walk down the stairs. I went up the stairs like it's just I cannot and it's a mental walk, but that's like New York, New York.

00;26;40;17 - 00;26;54;21 Unknown I really go full, you know, I mean, it is stressful. I like I lived in the city for six years and I remember I woke up, I mean, I went to law school there and everything, and I had a great time. But yeah, I woke up one day and I thought literally pops my head like, I can't, I can't do this anymore.

00;26;54;22 - 00;27;11;26 Unknown Yeah, I do not. I'm not having fun. Yeah, my apartment was a 400 square foot. Oh my God. Right. And I had a random roommate that I didn't know. Oh, and what I found out later is that this apartment was originally a one bedroom. Oh my God. And they told me it was prewar, but they didn't tell me which war.

00;27;11;27 - 00;27;31;01 Unknown Okay. It was built in 1890. Oh, right. So. So they turned it into a two bedroom, a two bedroom, and I had no closet in my room. I had no light. It was out. You were paying like, $3,000 a month. And this was this was like 2016. Yeah. Like in New York. It was like each. Yeah. For for a three story walk up.

00;27;31;04 - 00;27;48;00 Unknown That's crazy. And it was like black mold in the basement. And I had to argue for three years, like, please replace it. So eventually they did. I had no sink in the bathroom. I had two sinks in the kitchen. So we had the people sink and then like, the food's like, oh my God. Yeah, that's funny. Okay, let's get into some juicy stuff.

00;27;48;01 - 00;28;13;08 Unknown Okay. So what's the biggest legal mistake creators are making right now? They're not reviewing the contracts and they're not understanding what they're signing. Right. And that's where all of these issues start. Because if you don't understand what you're getting yourself into, even if some minor engagement, your remedies are going to be limited, right? Because you have to put yourself in the mindset of, if I'm going to sign a contract with someone, that contract was probably drafted by them, or someone that represents that.

00;28;13;08 - 00;28;30;29 Unknown That is going to be the most protective of the person presenting the contract, right? You have the ability. You have a right to an attorney. Right. Contract should say in it you had a fair and reasonable opportunity to review this with an attorney of your choosing. It's worth the money so that you prevent yourself from having issues down the line.

00;28;30;29 - 00;28;48;24 Unknown And if there are issues down the line, at least you have some sort of recourse because you anticipated it. Yeah, because you don't know what you don't know and neither will the lawyer. However, the lawyer can say, I will draw an experience and be like, hey, I've done this a million times. I've seen how this plays out. You know, let's put this clause in there so that you're protected.

00;28;48;24 - 00;29;06;01 Unknown So at least that we can get this resolved in a way that's going to be more favorable to you. Okay. So then I sit on oh I don't know I listen to that as ones. Okay. He won. Yeah. We got to use the glasses. You know it's there. It's going to get us more visibility in the shoes of Lexus.

00;29;06;01 - 00;29;26;26 Unknown The shoes of Lexus. Yes. So then I'm assuming, you know, putting the contract through charging is not a good idea. It's not the worst idea. It's better than. It's better than not. Yeah, but like GPT is going to tell you what you want to hear to a degree. Yes. Yeah. Even it would agree. Like I don't use ChatGPT I use a legal I for sure.

00;29;26;26 - 00;29;42;29 Unknown And it it's it's a game changer as far as the amount of physical work I have to do. However, when it comes to a thing like a contract, my rule with it is I want to review it myself first, make my notes, and then have the legal I review it. I use open case. I really like it.

00;29;43;00 - 00;29;59;08 Unknown Open case. Yeah. Okay. Well and and like I have them and then I have a review and I compare the notes. Right. Because and I'll notice things like, no, this is just not contextually correct. The context is everything. Right. Yeah. So I still flawed. So like so like I'm not going to lose a job just, you know, tomorrow.

00;29;59;09 - 00;30;11;09 Unknown Yeah. It is getting better. It is. And it's very helpful, especially if I, like, have to put together a motion or something like that. Like it helps me with the framework of it. But there still requires, like, the individual knowledge of the attorney.

00;30;11;11 - 00;30;29;14 Unknown Hey, it's like Lexus star if you've made it this far. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for sticking around. If you are enjoying the show, I would love if you could subscribe. Now why would I ask you this? The more subscribers we have, the easier it is for me to bring on fun, exciting and entertaining guests on the show for you to enjoy.

00;30;29;15 - 00;30;34;01 Unknown So let's keep the conversation going. Now let's get back to the show.

00;30;34;04 - 00;30;38;13 Unknown Do you think that a lot of girls just sign without even reading? Yes. Why?

00;30;38;13 - 00;30;58;21 Unknown I mean, you have a consent form coming on here, right? Well, yeah. How many do you think I've read that? Like. Yeah, it's true if you ask them. Hey, what is the number? What a paragraph. If you say they don't, they don't know. They most of them don't read. But you know what? It's also like okay, you're on the back of giving them or a power of attorney to go and take out all the money in their bank, and they probably would sign it, I guess.

00;30;58;21 - 00;31;17;12 Unknown I guess they trust me. Yeah, right. Let's let's try it out next. Next we did on him. No, he read it. Go ahead. Despite, contrary belief, they there's not that much in there. Go have a ball. Yeah. My debt to. Yeah. Take my student loan. Oh, no, it's not all yours. We love you. So when you okay?

00;31;17;12 - 00;31;40;01 Unknown What? Oh, yeah. He's actually the only one who actually read the whole thing. I mean, he would he wouldn't be a good lawyer if. If you read it. Yeah, I was performatively. Yeah. That's what something creators think is protecting them, but actually isn't I mean, running it through ChatGPT, right? Like fair like I think that's the easiest one because it's going to tell you what you want to hear depending on what the prompt is.

00;31;40;04 - 00;32;04;00 Unknown Right. But like things that are actually hurting them is when they have a dispute with management and you just lock management out like you don't read what the contract said about doing, which says like, okay, what note like you owe one of the time, with, you know, when you sign these contracts with management, it'll say 30 days notice or written notice or this and the management, because all of them are stupid too, as we all know they might.

00;32;04;01 - 00;32;29;18 Unknown They're not even going to know what they put in there. Yeah, it might, I say you can leave immediately with, you know, as long as you give written notice. Yeah. Why do that? Instead of breaching the contract and putting yourself in a bad position if it is litigated because you're a big creator and they can get something out of you and they know that you're going to settle eventually because it's just too expensive to have litigation, just read it or pay someone to pay a lawyer, you know, a couple hundred bucks to review it and give your thoughts.

00;32;29;18 - 00;32;47;11 Unknown Right? Like, I would charge an hour of my time if I somebody random said, hey, can you review this and tell me this is what I'm trying to do? Yeah. Why not? You know, so I think it's just being aware that every time you sign a contract, you are committing yourself to something that could be enforced. Yeah. Interesting.

00;32;47;11 - 00;33;06;25 Unknown So, ladies, read your contract. Yeah. You know, and not just ladies, it's. You got to stop saying ladies. I'm sorry. It could be anybody. Anybody. It's any creator. Any creator. Yeah. Any creator. Yeah. I mean, us, you know, we've we've had to sign a lot of contracts in our time, you know what I mean? And sometimes, you know, I'm not going to lie.

00;33;06;26 - 00;33;25;24 Unknown You know, sometimes we'll put it through charging, but, I mean, it's better than. No, it's better than nothing. I read it brand deals. Whatever it is, I read it, I go through it. But, I'm. I'm also not super versed. Well versed in, you know, legal writings and stuff like that vocabulary. So I do put it through chat after and I have my questions and just to make sure, you know.

00;33;26;00 - 00;33;45;19 Unknown Yeah. Oh, should I get you in? Yeah. Well, it's like people think that, like when they get a contract like this is some sort of mystery document, right? Like, no, if you have a contract, the language is generally pretty clear and it means what it meant to say. However, there are always those operative terms that can change the meaning of a sentence that you may not be aware of.

00;33;45;19 - 00;33;59;16 Unknown Right? Because that's what you need to and not like. It's when it says in the event of or on this condition. And so it can be like you can leave if this happens. Right. And that's what people aren't aware of. They'll just read the first half so I can leave after 30 days and not read that second half.

00;33;59;19 - 00;34;15;09 Unknown Yeah. Right. Yeah yeah yeah. And that's really what I think the most value in having an attorney review that is, is that they're gonna say, are you aware of this. Yeah. Especially when it comes to well, you're only firm. So I'm just going to say girls. Right, right. Who are in this industry and who are making a lot of money.

00;34;15;09 - 00;34;32;12 Unknown Right. You they got to protect themselves and not just write like it's like I was through it quickly. Like, what's what's 500 bucks going to do to you when you're making X amount of money and you're filing taxes, you know. Yeah, I think don't probably I'm, I'm almost positive. Oh yeah. For sure. For sure. Yeah. Right. Yeah. It's a business expense.

00;34;32;12 - 00;34;46;14 Unknown You know if it's like or if it's. Yeah it's for your, for your activities but like you know like yeah there's really no reason not to but sometimes and I'm sure, you know, like there's a lot of girls that make a lot of money and are really cheap. Yeah. And it's just like, this is not the time to be cheap.

00;34;46;15 - 00;35;01;07 Unknown Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a, there's a time and place for it, but not when, you know you're signing contracts. When I get a contract I don't know why I get so nervous. It's like super stressful for me, a contract I don't know about you, but I know your life away when I mean, it's it's intimidating. It's like you're you're it's a commitment.

00;35;01;07 - 00;35;27;09 Unknown Yeah. And I just maybe a lot of people don't, like, really understand that. Yeah. It's a it is. Are you scared of commitment? Who is it. But the job I know it's a job I wanted. The office is like 12 years I can't commit. I'm not worried. You're not scared. Strong. That's wild. Okay. Next question. No, I wrote these down because I want this to be very informative for the viewers that are watching.

00;35;27;12 - 00;35;50;26 Unknown So have you ever seen a creator lose a ton of money over a bad contract? Yes. You know, I think that's that happens quite often because they're either not realizing how much is being taken from them or they're not realizing, what the management's doing to them. Yeah, right. So the short answer to that is, yes, the situation is going to be dependent, you know, on what the specific facts are there.

00;35;50;26 - 00;36;09;17 Unknown But that's usually when people come to me when it's already like a little bit too late. Yeah. So the what, what you would say to people would be get it, get an attorney before it gets too bad. Honestly, what I would do, and if you have the money to do it, it's like pay to have the attorney on retainer.

00;36;09;19 - 00;36;30;21 Unknown Yeah, right. Like it's better to put a couple of grand down on. And obviously I'm biased. Right. But in my experience, it's better to have someone you trust. Yeah. And I would never hire a lawyer unless you would be comfortable getting a beer with them. Seriously? Because if you can't talk to them and feel comfortable with them, then how can you trust them with protecting like your livelihood and like them being honest with you or not using you as a cash cow, right?

00;36;30;21 - 00;36;45;06 Unknown Yeah. So that's rule of thumb that we're going to have. I've hired lawyers. And thing is, I want to make sure that I can actually get a beer with them and talk to them like a normal person. Yeah. Like it shouldn't. And it also it shouldn't be like, I have to go through all of these steps to even have a conversation with them.

00;36;45;06 - 00;37;04;15 Unknown I go through their secretary and then the secretary makes the appointment, know, like how I operate my business is he's personal. Text me. Yeah. Like, even if I can't answer immediately, I will get back to you. And if you if I forget to just text me later or get double text, I don't give it. Yeah, yeah, it's definitely when, when you get a more personal vibe, you get that connection and you know, you, you build something with the client.

00;37;04;15 - 00;37;23;11 Unknown It's not just like, okay, I'm going to do this and pay me, but you also want the you want the client to feel comfortable. Exactly. Like, hey, Alex, like I had this situation come up. I don't know how it's going to affect me. What do you recommend? And if it's a 15 minute conversation, wouldn't it be worth it that I build you for the 15 minutes so that you can make the correct decision?

00;37;23;13 - 00;37;39;20 Unknown Yeah. The way to sell consoles for free consults are free, but if you already hire. Let's go. Between you and I, between you and I like, even though everybody's gonna see this. But, like, if you're calling me like, hey, I have a question. I'm, Yeah, I'm not billing for that. I don't give a shit. Yeah. I'm like, it's only like, when do you actually need something done?

00;37;39;20 - 00;37;53;27 Unknown Exactly. Because it's not a good business model for me for like, obviously people try to take advantage of it. And then when I become privy to that, then the dynamic changes and it happens. Is just what it is. But like when something if you call Alex, I have this issue, what are your thoughts? I'm just going to give it to you.

00;37;53;27 - 00;38;12;05 Unknown I don't want to go through and say, okay, this was just a $150 for this 13 minutes, whatever. You know, like, no, but if you say, Alex, it's escalated, I need you to actually do something in a representative capacity, okay? I would be like, hey, you know, I'm going to start billing for this. Yes. For sure. Like, it's not a good long term business strategy for me to do this every night.

00;38;12;06 - 00;38;26;22 Unknown Yeah, yeah. Because then you're going to be like, oh, this guys is billing me every time I talk to him, whereas the other person isn't. And you want to keep your right. And I want my clients to feel comfortable. I want them to be able to like, text me. So like, there's something quick I could do if it's something that, hey, we should text about this, I'm gonna say, give me a call.

00;38;26;22 - 00;38;44;02 Unknown Yeah, yeah. No, I had I knew this one lawyer where it's like, every text, every, like, second on the phone was billed, and I'm like, Jesus, I'll do that with clients I don't like. Are you kidding me? He didn't like you. There's no client right now that I have. But I have in the past. And like, I can't stand you.

00;38;44;03 - 00;39;00;27 Unknown So you just. You just bill every second. I mean, I have the right to, you know, like you decide. Yeah. Like some you don't charge some you do like some like like it's like a. Yeah, it's a balance. Like it's a long term versus a short term. Yeah. And it's like I can't wait to be done with this person and you're going to pay me for every second.

00;39;00;29 - 00;39;16;29 Unknown But if it's like, no, I want a long term relationship where this person continues to use me when there's another issue in the future, just like hires me. Yeah, I do like, yeah, that's wow. When you put it. Oh yeah. That's I'm literally getting paid to be used. Yeah, yeah. Thanks for that. I came here to get knocked down.

00;39;16;29 - 00;39;36;13 Unknown I had a smile on his face. Yeah, yeah, just use me. Yeah. He likes to get used. All right, let's see what you're talking next. Sorry. Yeah. No. Interrupt me if I talk to you. So we got some. No, no, no. You're good. Okay. So what is the freeze? Absolutely. It's not like some water. It's pure vodka.

00;39;36;13 - 00;39;54;02 Unknown I mean, if it's if if it's if anything, like I'm scared when she leaves her, he's like, oh, I got them on this. I got him on that. Like I'm sending them a letter. He just certainly before. Oh no I'm not I'm not that much. We're not going to get a bill aren't we. Do you want one. You can write it off over again.

00;39;54;07 - 00;40;16;19 Unknown Okay. About your credit, pay with the credit card. Okay. What's the craziest legal situation you've ever gotten? I have, I think it's ongoing right now. Okay. Is it specifically with. No. I mean, it could just be anything. I had one case where there were these two roommates that were together, and they were in, like, a poly. Cool, cool, right?

00;40;16;19 - 00;40;40;22 Unknown This one they all have like, yeah, yeah, multiple partners. And they had like three cats and they broke up one day and like three of the poly cool partners stole all the cats. And this girl, I was like, okay. And then they transitioned all of them. What do you mean they, they like in the middle of this? Like like when the cats were being stolen, they were going through a transition from like, girl, a boy or whatever, boy to girl with the cats or the person.

00;40;40;28 - 00;40;53;16 Unknown The person. Oh, but like it just added to the insanity of the case. But they came to me and it was like, I want to sue my roommate for the cat. And I'm like, this is ridiculous. Okay? Like, how am I? And I was like, it's going to cost this much money. And I was like, it's not going to be cheap.

00;40;53;19 - 00;41;08;01 Unknown They know they paid it. So I'm like in court in front of a real judge. And I'm like, what? She like, why are you here? And I'm like, this person and their friend stole three cats. And then and they started posting about it on Reddit and it blew up it, it got all this traction. And I was like, this is getting out of hand.

00;41;08;01 - 00;41;25;02 Unknown This is crazy. Wow. Like, that was like, it's like benign. Yeah. But like it was just like, this is way too much effort for, like, something so stupid. Well, you know, you got paid, right? Yeah, I got, yeah, they got money, I got paid. So eventually I really didn't get the cats back. No. Yeah. Just buy three new, I believe.

00;41;25;06 - 00;41;40;00 Unknown Right. You get that money, you can. I'm trying to think of like I've had some pretty crazy, like, criminal cases too, where, like, you get someone a really good deal, they just don't show up to court, and they just go, you know, like, like that. Like they still got to pay you, though. I wouldn't be there if they didn't.

00;41;40;00 - 00;41;56;11 Unknown Yeah, that's why I like that. I'll take it up front. Yeah. Yeah sure. Payment up front. Yeah. Wow. Like yeah. No I, I'm sure if I really sat down and think about it, but unfortunately I become so numb to the. Yeah. Got this last week actually, I'm in court for a case that I can't reveal. The dealer tells me.

00;41;56;11 - 00;42;13;09 Unknown Yeah, no, no, a gun was a gun was discharged. And, I'm sitting in court and I hear, boom, a cop accidentally shot his gun in court. What? Yeah. And I'm just, like, looking around. I'm like, are we all just going to ignore this one? And, yeah, they just ignored it. They said, oh, we called the sheriff. He's going to do an investigation.

00;42;13;09 - 00;42;29;02 Unknown The sheriff comes down and he looks at it for 30s. Yeah, it was a weapon malfunction. Like, no, it wasn't. I saw his hand. He's playing with his gun on his holster. Like I want to go home. Like it's going to go me out of here and be trusted anymore. Like, I was like, Erica Kirk, I'm sorry. What?

00;42;29;02 - 00;42;36;04 Unknown She's like, I want to go home. Yeah, that's. You know what? I can relate to that right now. I was like, I think you.

00;42;36;06 - 00;42;54;12 Unknown Oh my God. Okay. If creators were honest, now we're just talking about creators. Okay, what would they admit? They're terrible at communication. I mean like the when you'll pay someone to like a lot of money to pay a lawyer, a lot of money to handle this issue. But it's not like you just pay the money and then like the stun, like there needs to be a line of communication.

00;42;54;15 - 00;43;10;27 Unknown And I'm sure it goes into other aspects of their life outside of chatting, which they probably pay someone to do anyway. But like, it's just like, if you don't communicate with me, I can't solve the issue. Yeah, right. But like, is that I'm sure you've had the same experience with people creators. You've worked with it, like answer the phone.

00;43;10;28 - 00;43;29;18 Unknown Yeah. That's one thing about me that I like. I tap my shoulder about my back. It's I respond very quickly, like, and I don't know, I saw this reel the other day. I don't know if I send it to you or it's like, not smart people, but like, good business people will always respond to their phone. Yeah, fast.

00;43;29;19 - 00;43;50;06 Unknown Well, yeah. You got should done where? My phone is really my office. Yeah. Right. Like it's a different world. Like I don't need to be in one physical place. Like I can do everything on my phone because. But that's the thing, honestly, though, like this freaking device just now. Yeah, it's honestly, it's just like, I can't you can't catch a break.

00;43;50;07 - 00;44;05;20 Unknown You know what I mean? I know whether it's work, whether it's like your friends sending you reels, it's like, I, I feel the need that I need to see everything. Now, the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning. Well, now I change that, especially this morning. I was like, I'm going to be grateful this morning.

00;44;05;20 - 00;44;25;12 Unknown You know, I'm not going to go on my phone. I'm going to have some positive thoughts because it's wild. Like we're in bed together and we're both on our phones, like setting each other, talking to each other. Yeah. And I'm just like. And then we're, you know, you're on three different platforms talking and it's like, what the, the role that I have is like when I get like when I'm going to bed and I'm like scrolling before I go to bed.

00;44;25;17 - 00;44;45;28 Unknown Whenever I hit the like the YouTube shorts, I'm like, okay, it's time for yeah, I like this, isn't it? Like, I don't need this anymore. I deleted Facebook, okay, I deleted Facebook because I'm like, okay, there's Instagram, there's Facebook. I mean, Snapchat is just work. So I don't I don't even open that. There's TikTok, although I had deleted TikTok previous and I'm like, there's just too much going on.

00;44;45;28 - 00;45;03;13 Unknown I'm getting overstimulated. It's it's it's literally okay. It's so bad. You should wear that shirt next time. What? Overstimulated. Yeah, I do have I won't go on TikTok like recreationally, but I'm getting making money from TikTok. Are you? I go, they're sending me $4,000 this month. I'm like, what the. I think your part is. Yeah. I'm like, what?

00;45;03;17 - 00;45;18;11 Unknown Last month they sent me 50. I'm like, what am I doing? I got views on like one video, got like 3 million views, right? Stop. And I'm like, oh, I'm like, follow you? Yeah. It's only firm I think. Yeah, I just figured that out. I mean, thank you for the podcast, but it's because you probably giving information right.

00;45;18;15 - 00;45;27;06 Unknown Like information there. You like kind of a sarcastic tone. Yeah. Just like when I rank things. God. Oh, okay. You go. Good. Yeah. Okay. What?

00;45;27;08 - 00;45;48;08 Unknown If you're watching this right now, I bet you care about how you look, feel, and smell. Especially smell. And that's why I'm here to talk to you about King Rilla. They make all natural soaps, shampoos, lip balms and deodorants for men. But I'm not gonna lie. I use them as well. They use organic ingredients that keep you feeling fresh all day long.

00;45;48;09 - 00;46;02;19 Unknown And trust me, you deserve to treat yourself like a king. So do yourself and your girlfriend a favor by visiting them at King rilla.com. You won't regret it. Oh, and don't forget to use my promo code Lexus Star to get 15% off your order.

00;46;02;23 - 00;46;11;20 Unknown Right. I was just I don't use it, though. I go to just check what my balances. I was like, cool. But you do. You post daily I would say three times a week. I have a whole team for that and I don't have to deal with it.

00;46;11;20 - 00;46;31;04 Unknown They do it for me like they want me to like respond to comments and stuff and I'm like, I can't, I just, I that's kind of where I draw the line because I'm going to get too into it. Yeah, I'm going to call someone a moron. And then I've done that before when I was a little bit less, when I was a little bit more unhinged, I should say I was younger because I was like, I do have a bit of an attitude.

00;46;31;04 - 00;46;44;25 Unknown Yeah. And, this girl went and left me a negative review on Google, and I'm like, I never worked with you. And I was like, okay, I probably shouldn't do that. Yeah, no, but that's the worst. Especially when you get a review from somebody you didn't work for. They just heard something and then they're like, oh, I'm going to leave a review.

00;46;44;25 - 00;46;59;22 Unknown Like what the. I read a review for like, a surgeon or something. And I'm like, she says, I've never been there, but my friend hasn't. You shut the fuck up. Yeah, I like, you know, I would if you could respond to that. I don't think I can be too mean. Yeah, I would like to, but I would, I'd go off.

00;46;59;23 - 00;47;14;12 Unknown Yeah. You know, the same. But you just gotta, you know, leave it. I know you have to. You're making. If you made 4K on TikTok, you need to be on there every day and you need to go on live. They keep telling me that I can make up to 7500 hours. You're going to live. Yeah, but I want it.

00;47;14;14 - 00;47;30;21 Unknown Why? I, I don't, I don't know, have people all your stuff. I mean there's there's of deniability question. All right. That's fine. But there is some liability for me. Like like I can't give you legal advice on TikTok, but I can answer general questions. You can ask general questions and then you put a disclaimer, right. This is not legal advice.

00;47;30;23 - 00;47;43;00 Unknown Yes, there's this lawyer lawyer. He goes to parks and he says, I'm a lawyer. Ask me a question. Like, I tried doing that in New York and nobody would ask me a question. New York yeah, yeah. It was like, people are like, I don't want to deal with this. And my social media, he's like, it's gonna work. Well.

00;47;43;00 - 00;48;02;15 Unknown I'm like, no it's not. Yeah, it was just embarrassing. And I feel like New York people are very friendly and they know that I won't be harassed. Yeah, yeah. You don't know who's going to talk to you, right? Right. Okay. What's the most expensive mistake you've seen someone make? The most expensive mistake is probably going into the business with the wrong person.

00;48;02;17 - 00;48;21;11 Unknown And then buying property with them. You know, or, like, it sounds like you're talking from experience. I don't know, I, I'm not going to. I'm not going to comment. But, put it this way, generally, most of the things I talk about are from some sort of lived experience. But, especially in this industry, be very careful.

00;48;21;11 - 00;48;39;23 Unknown You go into business with me generally, you know, you know, anyone that you most of the girls on here, they have a significant other and it's usually long term, which nobody ever talks like no one ever talks about, like the girls that are on the platform all in like really very long, committed relationships. That's that is the standard.

00;48;39;23 - 00;49;02;16 Unknown Like you meet you need help obviously. And you need someone that's going to support you in this too. Or the negativity of it will just drag you. And you go make sure that's the right person and make sure they're not just using you for a free lunch. Yeah. You know I see that a lot. But the thing is, is that when there's only creator and then she's with a guy, she's obviously most likely making more money than him, right?

00;49;02;16 - 00;49;19;27 Unknown Right. And then, like you say, they'll buy something together and then, you know, but now you're in. You're not. Yeah. You don't even need to be married like, you're you're in you really. You don't even need to be married. No, I mean, like, well, yeah, because I'm not only together. But then the girl put all the money, but like, it's not going to say on like the title if you buy a house.

00;49;19;27 - 00;49;43;10 Unknown Right. That is 5050. Or. Well it is, it is 5050 because it's going to usually say unless you're married it's a joint tenant or something like that, which is legally 5050, it's not going to say, oh I have an equity interest in this house, this percent. But like, yeah. So a lot of the times what I see this, I see like the boyfriend or what I call the boyfriend, which is like the bane of my existence, who all think that we're not making fun of you over here.

00;49;43;10 - 00;50;03;23 Unknown I promise you, no, but I know they all think they're like hot Shots managers, and they're like a business school. Yeah, yeah, here's my course. Yeah, they're all the dumbest people I've ever met. They were just like I was the old friend back when they lived in, like, some podunk town. And then she decided to do one day and blew up and was like, yeah, I deserve some of that money.

00;50;03;23 - 00;50;20;03 Unknown Yeah, it's like, no you don't. Yeah. No you don't. Yeah. We're a team. Yeah. But like that's the way we run things different. Yeah, that's that's the thing, you know, want to know that we're, we're, we're but you have a can you have also like other business things that you do together. Yeah. We have different businesses too. But also when we shoot it's just her and I.

00;50;20;03 - 00;50;36;21 Unknown It's not like right. I manage her and she goes shoot off with different brand deals or brands or whatever studios and guys, it's us, you know what I mean? Like I'm part of it too, right? That's and that's a, that's a totally different dynamic. But it's just like to each their own when you're in like a committed relationship and what you're okay with.

00;50;36;24 - 00;50;54;09 Unknown Not my place to judge I don't care. Yeah. But like it gets to a point where a lot of these boyfriends become literally like I call them, right? Like it's just like, it's just like, is what are you doing? We get you're managing the chat and you're saying you can send this picture. You can send. Yeah. It's like you can have this kind of conversation.

00;50;54;09 - 00;51;11;17 Unknown You can't like one back the fuck off. And this has nothing to do with you. Yeah, right. Like like what do you know you're not. Oh, it's just it's crazy. Yeah. That's I think that's never going to not be an issue. But the thing is, is that I just lost my train of thought. Oh, really? I did.

00;51;11;18 - 00;51;29;04 Unknown I want to add to that. Like, if you're if you're a guy managing a girl that you're dating or whatever, but they're not working 8 to 5, you're not managing her, you know what I mean? Like I'm managing our stuff and I'm ask her. I'm working 24 seven. He's on me all the time. I'm making money. I'm I'm doing my thing and growing the brand.

00;51;29;04 - 00;51;46;04 Unknown I'm doing stuff to manage the brand and the Lexus Hour show and King Rella and, you know, audience assets that we're launching soon. There's many different things that we're doing. I'm out there living the life like chilling in Miami on the water. Right? You're not you're not getting the Lambo saying, hey, you know, I'm not getting the Porsche.

00;51;46;04 - 00;52;03;00 Unknown He's not yet responsible decisions regarding that Porsche. And you will get it, you know. Yeah. You think we will, and you'll let me know, and we'll go for a drive. We'll go for a raise? Yeah. No, I don't want to go for a race. No, no, I am not raising anybody. You don't think you re. Don't forget, if I raise here, I lose my SUV.

00;52;03;05 - 00;52;18;08 Unknown That's very. So am I racing? I'm a I'm a good boy here. That's very true. I've got a guy once that was doing 123. I got a ticket. I was like, oh, I hope you enjoyed driving. What? You could, yeah. What do you do now? There's like this new, new law, right. If you go this was up in New York, but.

00;52;18;08 - 00;52;36;23 Unknown Yeah, but here in Florida now, my understanding is that if you go over 100 hundred over you, you're going to do jail, you're going to do jail time. Yeah. Like that's wild. Yeah. I can't even imagine myself in jail anyways. I'd be I'm I've been in a jail visiting multiple times and I have been going quite frequently.

00;52;36;29 - 00;52;55;22 Unknown And I'm like, man, this isn't really that bad. Yeah. So like, this is kind of cozy, free food. You chill all day, you don't have to work. Everybody wears the same thing. And like, at least the, like the newer jails up in New York, they have the pod system. Okay. So it's like you have your little room and it's all like in an octagon ish sort of thing.

00;52;55;24 - 00;53;11;17 Unknown And it's like, then you have like, you know, a balcony and then you have the downstairs with TVs and chairs and they're all playing cards. I'm like, yeah, I don't want to be here. No, but, you know, have built in friends. I guess a lot of people like, do a little Grimes to go to jail just so they can get free food.

00;53;11;17 - 00;53;32;02 Unknown A lot of homeless people get free private healthcare. Yeah. You know, I mean, that's that's my stuff. You know, like, I have seen people are like, whatever I'm going to like, they know, like during the winter up in New York, like, yeah, go to just the alternative. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's wild. Okay. I asked, Chad to draft me up a little Q&A.

00;53;32;05 - 00;53;47;05 Unknown Okay, okay. It's just you got to tell me if it's legal or illegal. Okay? Okay. I don't even go through them. So if I don't know, can I just say I don't know? Yeah. Okay. Say next. And there's there's not there's not that many okay. Okay. So posting old collabs depends I mean you're going to get a lot of depends.

00;53;47;05 - 00;54;10;03 Unknown Oh yeah. Yeah okay. Well then explain like not so rapid fire. Yeah. They're not they're they're really not like when you say an old collab is it. It's going to be contextual. Like was it with an old partner that doesn't want you posting on where they do you have right to sign. You had a previous agreement, which you probably don't, but sometimes people are smart enough to do that is I own the rights to this content.

00;54;10;06 - 00;54;27;19 Unknown Then just like go for it. Yeah, own the rights to the content. But if that person signed them away. But if not, then it becomes, you know, do they are they entitled to something they might think they are. They may not. Who got the copyright registration. They should get the copyright registration because that is, you know, considered proof that you own this content.

00;54;27;19 - 00;54;46;29 Unknown Even if somebody else has involvement in it, it's still a considered an infringement. You're the owner unless they can disprove that inference. So it's a very powerful tool. Yeah. If you have an old collab you just get the copyright registration. Yeah, it's worth the money in my opinion. Okay. Interesting. Fake management contracts. I don't even know what that means.

00;54;47;01 - 00;55;00;22 Unknown I mean, like, is it only I mean, I don't I don't know I don't know how to answer that. I don't know how to I don't know how to ask that. What would a fake management contract mean? You have a problem now? I mean, like, if it's fake, it's probably illegal because it's a sham like you're doing it.

00;55;00;22 - 00;55;22;13 Unknown But I think maybe they mean, like. But even when you sign a contract, it doesn't mean that there's always a lawyer. No license. Right. Yeah. I mean, makes a contract a contract, a contract, a contract. Like if you just wrote, you know, I promise to give you. I mean, there's a there's a lot of ways that like. But you say, Alex, you know, in exchange for this bar of soap, will you give me $5?

00;55;22;13 - 00;55;38;16 Unknown Right. That and I write it and I say, yes, that's a contract. There was a transaction. Both parties were receiving something we agree as to what the value of that product is, and we're free to make that decision that's enforceable. Don't even necessarily need a document, but that's what's going to be like proof that this exists a contract.

00;55;38;16 - 00;55;56;05 Unknown Right. So and you don't need a lawyer for a contract. Yeah. It's just lawyers are better at drafting them and understanding them. Right. But any agreement between two parties or two people, not even necessarily people, could be businesses to use something in exchange for something else. Like you can't just like, say, I'm going to give you $25,000 right now.

00;55;56;07 - 00;56;16;04 Unknown That's not a contract. Yeah. Gift. That's. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Interesting. Makes sense. Leaked telegram groups is that a legal? Yeah. So it's legal. But like, telegram is one of those things. Like, what are you trying to accomplish? Good luck. They're not going to respond to a subpoena. You know, it's just like, kind of, you know, so what if somebody tries to sue me and I just don't respond?

00;56;16;04 - 00;56;36;11 Unknown What happens then? Well, then you. Well, that's different than a leaked telegram group. Okay. Like like with someone and trying to sue you and that you got served, right? Someone came to your door, so you got served, and you just don't respond. You get a default judgment against you. And if you're a default judgment against you, then depending on how old it is or how aggressive the parties are, they can collect against you.

00;56;36;11 - 00;56;51;28 Unknown So if they got to because default judgment means you didn't answer. So you either party wins by default. Really. Okay. So like if they got a judgment for you, you get $100,000. They're going to go and try and take a hundred grand out of your bank. Goddamn. Well, I put a lead on your house. That's crazy. It's best when you own nothing.

00;56;52;00 - 00;57;14;07 Unknown It can go to a degree. Yeah, like a Porsche. Exactly. Vroom, vroom. Yes. Using someone's content in promos. Illegal. I mean, you in context. You want to explain that one? That's fine. Screenshotting private content illegal. Okay, but. So let's say somebody screenshots my content and then leaks it somewhere. How am I going to know about it to do anything about.

00;57;14;08 - 00;57;35;01 Unknown Well, well, like you have to know about it, right? Like if someone if someone want to your page, your page and screen recorded a whole video and then went and posted it on Reddit, right, or whatever, you you wouldn't know about it unless someone told you. Yeah, but if you saw me be like, I want to go after this person, that's something you can do and you can find out who they are.

00;57;35;02 - 00;57;51;10 Unknown And I've done that where it's like whether or not it's worth pursuing in a lawsuit is a different question. However, if you're on A and you made a specific piece of content like a custom for somebody, right? So no one else is going to have that except for this person. And then you see that custom somewhere online. No it's not.

00;57;51;11 - 00;58;10;19 Unknown No. It was that person. You may not know their actual name, but you can send a subpoena. So fan auto. Yeah. And they will give you the information that is interesting. That's interesting. But it needs to be along with certain things. For example, a copyright registration, which is proof that you own it, which. So it's a long and it can be an expensive process.

00;58;10;19 - 00;58;29;26 Unknown Right. Yeah. It's like that's actually something I charged a flat fee for was like, we know this and it's going to be fact dependent. Like we know that it was a custom piece of content that this person posted, and we know that only this person has it, or I have a list of names of people that could possibly it could have been okay, I would probably charge a flat fee because then I would get the copyright registration.

00;58;29;28 - 00;58;47;08 Unknown I have to go and file that subpoena with the court, the federal judge. It has to be at a federal court. It's going to sign off on it right in this NICs. And it's a specific provision in the Copyright Act. And then you serve that science peanut to and then after you I mean it's going to take a couple of months.

00;58;47;08 - 00;59;06;04 Unknown They'll give you what information. Yeah. Penny. So but a lot of the times the information is pretty comprehensive. Awesome. That is so cool. I did not know that there's it's just crazy. There's so much to law. Yeah. It's insane. And you have to remember, like, so much of it, right? Oh, yeah. I mean, oh there's I don't know, a lot of things.

00;59;06;12 - 00;59;19;03 Unknown I told the people in, like, you're not hiring me because of what I know. Like, maybe to a degree. Yeah, but you're also you're hiring me for my ability to find out the answer. Exactly. Right. Like, I'm not going to sit here and tell you I know how to do this, right. There's a lot of I have never seen before.

00;59;19;03 - 00;59;35;08 Unknown Yeah. And you know, there's a way to figure it out. Yeah. And with AI, it does make the research easier. That's what I had been really helpful with. And you got your mama too. And I got Melissa. My mom doesn't have exactly a lot of experience in research on the other side, but but yes, sure. But I mean, I'll be like, hey, I've had this this particular we own the copyright registration.

00;59;35;08 - 01;00;01;21 Unknown What do you think about this case? You think it's a viable case, but it's nice to like, like lean on that as a resource. Yeah. Amazing. Okay. Last question. What is one thing that all creators should know when it comes to the law and the work that you do, that you're not untouchable, right? Like, you know, you are choosing to put yourself out there and you are vulnerable by nature of that.

01;00;01;23 - 01;00;19;07 Unknown Yeah. So what you should as a creator do is take every possible step to protect yourself, have your business structure set up correctly, try to remove your name, your real name from as many things you can. If you don't have a stage name, some people don't. Yeah, that's a that's a business. You, you know, make sure only that's there.

01;00;19;09 - 01;00;36;00 Unknown If you're registering an LLC, make sure it's not your personal address listed it. Get a registered agent. Your privacy is going to be the most important thing for you in this industry. And by not taking the right steps and consulting with the right people, you're not going to know any better and your information is going to be public.

01;00;36;01 - 01;00;53;07 Unknown Thank you for being here. Content creators, ladies, if you want to follow him, if you have any troubles, if you want to follow him, go follow him. And boys and boys.
